Our assaying service comprises of different assay methods, from the
fastest X-ray spectrometry analysis to the time consuming, but most
authentic and accurate Fire assay method. Through constant monitoring
and calibration, our fire assay results maintain an accuracy of
0.01% or 1/10,000, which is as good as the best in the World.
The assay lab is recognized by the Govt. of India and Bureau of Indian
standards and is operating as per BIS standards - IS: 1418-1999, which
is at par with the international standards of fire assay.
We are truly world class
With effect from January 2006, we have been certified as per the highest global rating for any gold laboratory in the world; ISO 17025 : 2005 and is accredited by National Accreditation Board for testing and calibration Laboratories (NABL). It is the 1st gold refinery in India to be so certified, and our gold assay certificates carry the same level of authenticity and accuracy as that of London Assay Office, Valcambi Refinery, Switzerland
etc.
A specially designed data processing system documents every technical
and administrative step in processing; and thus ensures the quality, and
authenticity of your sample's assayed results.
Assay charge

The Assaying and Gold Hallmarking Centre of the Company is
the 1st Gold Hallmarking Centre in India and is recognized by
the Bureau of Indian Standards and Government of
India. The entire operations are as per the standards IS :
1418-1999 which is at par with the international standards of
assaying and Hallmarking. The company's personnel are
trained in hallmarking by the Birmingham Assay office, England.
Presently the company is operating gold Hallmarking centres at Cochin, Trichur, Kollam, Trivandrum, Coimbatore and Madurai in the States of Kerala and Tamil Nadu, and is the biggest player in India in terms of branch network and market share and is hallmarking around 1.5 million pieces of jewellery per annum
The Indian Gold
Jewellery hallmarking scheme launched in April 2000, has now
completed 3 years of operations and is now eligible to become a
member of Vienna convention on hallmarking.
Once the Indian hallmarking scheme attains membership in Vienna convention ,
the Indian hallmarked Jewellery will be accepted the world over at its face value
, as notified by the 5 mandatory hallmarks,
which are as follows.
With the use of
specialized
tools, jigs and equipments, jewellery of all carats is
hallmarked here , giving utmost attention to the delicate design
of the Indian hand made jewellery.
All ornaments received for hallmarking are first analyzed on X Ray fluorescence
machine and thus the homogeneity of the batch is verified. Only those confirming
to the declared carat age are accepted for sampling and assaying.
Only those items that confirms to the declared
carat age , as detected by the
fire assay, is accepted for hallmarking. Hallmarking is done either manually on
arbor presses or by using state of the art laser machines with rotary axis etc capable of marking any delicate or intricate jewellery.
Laser machines ensure that the marks are very legible ; even hard to reach
areas can be hallmarked and all this is done with zero damage to the Jewellery.
Laser marking is ideally suitable for thin , hollow and studded Jewellery. Also
it helps in marking the specific logo of the jewelers along with the 5
mandatory hallmarks. Hallmarking charges – Rs. 25/- (US$ 0.50) per piece plus tax, freight, insurance etc. |
